Founder & CEO
Desmond Thompson is the founder of TAP Security and a cybersecurity executive whose career spans enterprise security leadership, critical infrastructure protection, and resilience engineering across regulated industries. His program leadership experience extends across North America, LATAM, EMEA, and APAC.

His credentials include the MBCI designation from the Business Continuity Institute, the Qualified Technology Expert (QTE) designation from the Digital Directors Network, and the TEEX Certificate in Infrastructure Protection. He holds an MS in Cybersecurity with a concentration in Cyber Terrorism.

Desmond’s leadership philosophy emphasizes operational execution over framework theater: building security programs that hold up under pressure, scale with the business, and remain defensible to regulators, boards, insurers, and executive stakeholders. His domain experience includes CMMC and DFARS compliance within the Defense Industrial Base, NIST CSF-aligned program design, business continuity and resilience operations, and multi-entity incident response.
